David Newell established his business in Covent Garden in central London in 1985.

Due to greatly increased costs, particularly a 135% rise of the business rates, the workshop in Covent Garden closed in May 2017. David will continue to work in Sussex and will be making visits to London in order to meet with clients.

He is a Fellow of the British Horological Institute and a member of the Antiquarian Horological Society.

His work includes the conservation of all the fine French clocks in the Wallace Collection, Manchester Square, London.

He looks after clocks for the National Trust and English Heritage. He is recommended by the major auction houses.

We offer a complete service for the repair and restoration of most types of quality antique clock from a simple clean and overhaul to the reconstruction of major sections of the clock movement. We will overhaul your grandfather clock movement for instance and are also able to restore the case and dial.

We can make missing parts in the style of the original using appropriate materials.

Over the years we have built up many trade contacts who help us in specialist areas such as bell casting, glass bevelling and marble restoration.

A good idea of cost can be given over the telephone or by email especially if images are provided. In some cases a visit can be made in order to quote.
